Geltinger Birk Luftbild - einen Meter unter Meeresspiegelniveau | Bis 2013 wurde der Wasserstand auf 3,20 Meter unter Meeresspiegelniveau abgesenkt, seit dem 16. September 2013 wird jedoch Seewasser über ein Rohr nördlich des Ortes Falshöft in die Birk geleitet, um den Wasserstand auf einen Meter unter Meeresspiegelniveau zu erhöhen und Lagunen und Salzwiesen wieder neu entstehen zu lassen. Dieses Projekt gilt als eines der größten Naturschutzmaßnahmen in Schleswig-Holstein.
